How to Deal with Auto Hail Damage

Repairing Hail Damage

- Expose your car to heat. Park it under the sun or apply hot air using a hair dryer or heat gun. The heat will expand the car surface and help some dents to smoothen automatically. Stop heating immediately if the paint tarnish and use wax or rubbing compound to restore the paint color.
- For the remaining dents, apply dry ice directly in the middle of the dents until frost accumulates around the ice. Remove the ice and again blow hot air. Treat any discoloration of paint as mentioned above.
- Lastly, you can put a piece of aluminum foil over the dent and heat it with a lighter for 30 seconds. Generously spray liquid CO2 from a compressed air can immediately after taking away the foil. The dents will clear up in about a minute.
